Ocarina of Time remake lands November 5 on Switch 2
Nintendo confirms new movement controls, a freely controlled camera and microphone input for melodies. Brazilian Portuguese also appears in the language listing.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches November 5, 2026, exclusively on Switch 2. Nintendo confirmed the date during its Zelda 40th anniversary presentation, with producer Eiji Aonuma demonstrating the game. A regional announcement dated September 9 details the rebuilt 1998 adventure, including voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue and orchestral music.¹ ²
Link gets new movement controls
Nintendo has added buttons for jumping and running, plus camera control on the right stick. Day and night continue passing even in towns. The company promises faster loading and smoother performance, without specifying a resolution or frame-rate target in that announcement.³
These changes affect how players read the environment. Choosing when to jump or reposition the camera changes how you inspect routes and obstacles. The remake has to accommodate that freedom within the returning adventure. The demonstration establishes the features; the full game will show how well they fit.
Threads of Time brings together current objectives and story events through a tapestry recording the journey. Nintendo’s UK page also confirms motion aiming for equipment such as the bow.⁴ Help remembering the next destination could be especially useful when returning after a few days away, long after the immediate objective has slipped your mind.
The ocarina can hear you
Hum a melody Link has already learned near the Switch 2 microphone and he can perform it in the game. Button controls remain available, and Nintendo also describes playing the tune on a real ocarina.⁴
On phones, ZELDA NOTES will offer an activity record, challenges to identify locations from pictures and a virtual ocarina with music scores shared through QR codes.³ That extends the music and map into activities beyond the console controls.
Prices in Brazil and abroad
Brazil’s digital edition costs R$329.90 on Nintendo Store.⁵ The table keeps local currencies and separates downloads from physical copies. Prices were checked September 9 and cover the game; hardware and accessories are separate purchases.

GAME’s offer includes a keychain; retailer discounts and delivery charges can change the total. The gap between formats makes comparing the same edition essential. Converting dollars or euros into reais also doesn’t reproduce the price charged at Brazil’s checkout.
Language support and accessories
The US store lists Brazilian Portuguese, though that language list doesn’t distinguish between text and voice support. It lists one player and handheld, TV and tabletop play modes.²
The anniversary console and Triforce-themed accessories arrive October 29. Young Link and Young Zelda amiibo follow in 2027, unlocking masks with a retro visual style.¹ The remake’s launch and those later extras sit on separate dates.
Where to find physical copies
In the United States, Nintendo Store lists the physical edition, while Best Buy offers a preorder sold by Best Buy for US$69.99, with a November 5 release.² ¹⁵ Spain’s GAME lists the physical copy for €69.99.⁹
For Brazil, the confirmed official option in this comparison is Nintendo Store’s digital edition.⁵ Brazilian physical availability and pricing still need confirmation. An overseas preorder also requires checking delivery to your address, shipping charges and possible import costs. A release date doesn’t guarantee an arrival date.
Tracking deals and understanding regional access

Delivery costs and potential resale value also matter.
A converted price on a comparison site doesn’t guarantee access to that region’s checkout or the final cost after card conversion, fees and taxes. Nintendo allows account-country changes but instructs users to enter their correct country of residence, giving an actual move as an example. Switching to a country where you don’t live solely for a lower price shouldn’t be presented as an officially approved practice.¹²
The eShop follows the account country; balances don’t transfer between regions, and foreign cards may fail. Remaining funds, automatic renewals and outstanding preorders can also block a country change.¹³ ¹⁴ A regional ranking compares prices. Account and payment conditions determine whether an offer can actually be used.
